Does Ashiatsu hurt?

How do I prepare for my appointment?
  • Stay hydrated before and after
  • Avoid heavy meals right beforehand

What should I wear?
Ashiatsu is performed on bare skin, so you’ll undress to your comfort level. Many clients disrobe completely, while others prefer to keep underwear on - either way is fine. You’ll be professionally draped at all times.

Can I get Ashiatsu if I’m pregnant?
Ashiatsu is generally not recommended during pregnancy due to the level of pressure involved. Most therapists, including myself, refer pregnant clients to alternate prenatal options.


How will I feel afterward?
Most people feel lighter, looser, and more at ease. Mild soreness can happen after deeper bodywork and often feels similar to the day after a good workout.


How often should I come in?
It depends on your goals. Ashiatsu tends to create lasting change, and we can often accomplish a lot in one session compared to other modalities. Those working through chronic issues may benefit from more frequent visits at first, while others come in monthly or as needed for maintenance and stress reduction.
